Ophir as a rule does not calibrate power/energy sensors below 10% of the full scale setting of the sensor. This is due to added errors rising from linearity and loss of resolution at the lower end of a scale and the resulting difficulty to stay within the calibration tolerances. In cases where it is critical for the customer, calibration may be considered if the tolerance is expanded to include the added errors.
Ophir will not adjust a sensor at a point that is below 10% of the scale. This is because adjusting at low power where there are more errors will cause those errors to affect the accuracy throughout the entire range of operation. There are certain exceptions to this rule in cases where the sensor in question has been tested and found to be linear below 10% of the scale and there is no possibility to reach higher power/energy levels.
